One of the questions I get asked often is "when should I book my newborn session?" and the answer to this varies among different photographers. The general consesus is that within the first two weeks of life is best for sleepy, posed newborn images. This is the time that new babies generally spend most of their days sleeping, so we can get the curly, sleepy poses that you see on the website.
For my business, its best to contact me ahead of time so I can put you on my "expecting" calendar, but I do leave room for last minute newborn sessions whenever I can. We don't book the actual date of the session until you are home with your baby. So even if you baby has arrived, contact me and we can schedule you in.
But what if you are past 2 weeks or baby was in the hospital for a while and you just got out? That's OK, contact me anyways to schedule your session! I have photographed many newborns over two weeks of age, and most are just as happy to sleep, sometimes it just takes a little longer to get them there. There is no pressure and no right or wrong time to book your newborn session.
